Changing REC registration details

Overview

It is the responsibility of the licensed individual or business to ensure Energy Safe Victoria is informed of any changes to their registration information, such as business type, contact details or the addition of a nominee.

Most changes to registration details can be requested by the REC's business supervisor via ESVConnect when they log into their profile and access the REC. All required supporting documentation must be attached as a PDF file.

Alternatively, changes to registration details together with supporting documentation can be sent to us via email at licensing@energysafe.vic.gov.au

Changing the type of registration

Sole trader to a partnership

If the business structure is changing from a sole trader to a partnership, the following details are required:

REC Business Structure Change Request Form - Sole trader to Partnership form to be completed and signed by the sole trader or currently listed Business Supervisor for the REC, as well as by all partners of the partnership being applied for.

Partnership to a sole trader

If the business is changing from a partnership to a sole trader, the following details are required:

REC Business Structure Change Request Form - Partnership to Sole Trader form to be completed and signed by all partners for the REC.

Sole trader to a company

If the business is changing from a sole trader to a company, the following details are required:

REC Business Structure Change Request Form - Sole Trader to Company form to be completed and signed by a currently listed Business Supervisor or sole trader for the REC.

Partnership to a company

If the business is changing from a partnership to a company, the following details are required:

REC Business Structure Change Request Form – Partnership to Company form to be completed and signed by all partners for the REC.

Please send the completed form by email: licensing@energysafe.vic.gov.au

If changing your registration type, consider whether you need to update the following:

• ABN
• Stationery
• Vehicles (advertising)
• Insurance details.

Changing of company name

It is important to note that if a company wishes to change its company name, it can only be done if the Australian Company Number (ACN) for the new company is the same as the previous company that was registered. If the ACN for the new company is different to the previous company, then you will be required to apply for a new REC registration for the new company.

As long as the ACN for the new company is the same as that for previous company, you may request the change of company name by providing the following details:

• REC Business Structure Change Request Form - Change Company Name form to be completed and signed by a currently listed Business Supervisor, company director or authorised person for the REC.

Adding a business name

To add a business name, the following details are required:

• A letter signed by a currently listed business supervisor for the REC (preferably on the business'/company's letterhead) requesting this change. The letter must include the business name to be added and the Australian Business Number (ABN).

Please provide this information via email to licensing@energysafe.vic.gov.au.
