Natural gas hazards safety guide for emergency services workers

Energy Safe Victoria has developed the Natural Gas Hazards Safety Guide to provide guidance for all Victorian emergency services personnel when dealing with potential natural gas hazards, and managing safety where the natural gas supply system may be involved in fire, rescue and other emergency situations.

It is intended for use by Victoria’s emergency services personnel in the course of emergency services duties, and should not be used by other persons for any other purpose.

Energy Safe Victoria has developed the Electricity hazards safety guide to provide guidance to Victorian emergency services personnel when dealing with potential electricity hazards and managing safety where the electricity supply system may be involved in fire, rescue and other emergency situations.

It is intended for use by Victoria’s emergency services personnel in the course of emergency services duties. It should not be used by other persons for any other purpose.

Stage 1 Outcomes Report

Energy Safe recognises that the world is changing rapidly; developments in technology, society, politics and the economy are constantly coalescing, shaping Energy Safe's longer-term operating environment in unpredictable ways. In response, Energy Safe initiated its Future Energy Strategy that utilises scenario planning to address these issues head on.

From April to August 2019, a diverse project team from across each line of business at Energy Safe developed scenarios that address the following focal question: which roles will Energy Safe need to play, and which capabilities will it need to develop, to effectively address the energy safety risks of the future Victorian energy landscape?

This Outcomes Report provides the outcomes and learnings of the project team’s five-month journey.
